I feel for you Steven and I hope someone can provide some help for you. I am recovering from two bulging disks on my spinal left side and some degeneration on the right in the same spots as you. Nothing like good old nerve pain. I did my own rehab after some epidural medicated injections for about 3 months. Unlike you I did have some flexibility issues from so many years of power lifting. I have used a lot of dynamic stretching exercises to take care of that. I went back to training the power lifts after about three months although very light. After 7 months I am at about 90% of my original strength and I am running about 15 miles per weak. Of late the nerve pain in my legs and feet have dissipated greatly and my whole torso feels stronger which I assume is a good thing. It seems that you are taking a long time to heal if the problem is indeed a disk. I hope you have consulted a neural surgeon as part of your rehab and healing process. Anyway, just wanted to add my empathy and to tell you not to give up. Back injuries are very slow to heal and never heal 100% that I know of but at least one can over come them and get back to doing what you want in time and with the right therapy.
