Why would I need that user? Just to delete it after recovery?
I left /home partition in damaged state and intended to recover in a comfort
environment of the new running system, not from a recovery disc. Also I was not
going to recreate any users manually, that computer had more then one user
account, and I was going to transfer records from passwd/shadow/group/gshadow
from old installation which were backed up from a rescue environment. And I did
all the things described above, but clean Fedora 10 did create enough
unjustified obstacles to complete this process.

Anyway, firstboot user creation dialog does not give enough advanced control
over the user creation (I cannot specify uid/groups manually for example) so
this feature is not useful for any kind of advanced machine configuration and
must not be dictated by the firstboot.

Consider you are working in environment where you need manual NM configuration
for networking (e.g. encryption setup). How is this expected to work in such 
case?
