[Canon-350D] snowing pics??????

This morning when I got up it was snow balls the size of golf balls I 
thought I'd try out my new camera on takeing snow fall pics and the 
silly thing wouldn't take one I tried a few settings nothing!!! the 
pic was either blurred to dark to light what the heck setting would 
work to capture the big flakes falling?? please help natasha
