It is possible to use Vugen 9.52 with IE8.
You need to install the patch LRVUG_00006.EXE to make Vugen 9.52
compatible with IE8.

Also add this to your script to make replay more realistic:
web_set_sockets_option("MAX_CONNECTIONS_PER_HOST", "6");
