The starting resolution is 1280x1024 even though 1024x768 is the highest in the Xorg.conf file. Additionally, the mode change keys (CTRL+ALT+KEYPAD+ or CTRL+ALT+KEYPAD-) do not work. Mplayer will play video in the 1280x1024 mode but if I change it to 1024x768 by using xrandr then I also get the blue screen instead of the video. dmesg excerpt: drm0: <Matrox G400/G450 (AGP)> mem 0xe8000000-0xe9ffffff,0xea000000-0xea003fff,0xeb000000-0xeb7fffff irq 16 at device 0.0 on pci1 drm0: Reserved 0x4000 bytes for rid 0x14 type 3 at 0xea000000 info: [drm] AGP at 0xe0000000 64MB info: [drm] Initialized mga 3.2.2 20060319 info: [drm] Initialized card for AGP DMA. drm0: [MPSAFE] Xorg.log excerpt: (==) MGA(0): BIOS at 0xC0000 (--) MGA(0): Video BIOS info block at offset 0x07A80 I can supply any info that would help as well as do testing of patches, etc. In the meantime, I've switched back to xf86-video-mga-1.4.7 version but its easy to switch to the latest for testing since I have both port skeletons.
