I've already tried creating the Application Data directory but when I tried to rename New Folder as Application Data it told me one already existed in C:\users\AWS (but I couldn't see it), and it asked if I wanted to merge my new folder with the existing. I tried refusing but it just left the New Folder unchanged. Then I tried again and accepted the merge proposal but all that happened was that my folder disappeared. There must be a hidden Application Data folder which I can't find and that isn't revealed by setting 'Show hidden files' on. One thing I did wonder was whether the AppData folder is actually the same thing so I investigated that. It contains three folders 'Local', 'LocalLow' and 'Roaming' each of which has a whole raft of stuff. I painstakingly expanded every subfolder in each of these but there's not a whiff of Gmote anywhere. A GmoteServer folder does exist in C:\Program Files (x86) but that of course is where it was installed and is not what it is looking for when it tries to run and that generates the error message. regards Alan On Apr 6, 5:40 pm, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > The error could be down to the directory not existing.
