Sorry the topic got off postfix. For both versions of linux, sysctl -a | grep core reports a bunch of net.core.* things and also:kerel.core_pattern = core kerel.core_uses_pid = 1 Victor Duchovni wrote:

Is there something else I need to do before?I have RedHat: 2.4.21-27.8.1.ELhugemem. What does "sysctl -a | grep core" report for your system? This may have been renamed under FC 2.6.12. This is the wrong forum for Linux internals. Also, is there something special about the core pattern you suggest? Wouldn't the normal core.PID work?Whatever works for you, don't leave out the pid.
