Gday all, thanks for the plug Frank.

Unfortunately, my Uni has taken down my website so the Automator
action isn't there anymore.  I'll put it up somewhere new and post
here.

Glad to hear it worked on file that large.

Streamclip showed the first 6 hours or so. Forgot what ffmpegX
showed, but it did not work

I ended up using one of George Bray's VLC Automator actions, which
handled the file length fine
