I was actually planning to have some kind of stats reported on the no. of 
requirements tested, No. of test cases failed on which requirements and such..

I'd agree with Teresa then, you'll want some kind of hyperlink if you need an 
active ability to jump between them - not sure if you can have that hyperlink 
take you to the Word paragraph number though. If you just need a referential 
relationship you could just put the req document paragraph number in the Test 
object's reference field.

Requirements are stored in a separate word document. Stories and Test cases are 
stored in V1.

Are you requirements managed in an external system or in V1? If in V1 what type 
of V1 object holds requirements (e.g. Requests, Feature Groups, etc.)?

How can I link my test cases to requirements? Is there a way to easily map
