QTJava is a wrapper around QT, doesn't include any codec implementations
itself. What I'm saying is to opensource QTJava, not QuickTime.

Yes, but that would put the responsibility for licensing the codecs on the
application developer.  Financially difficult if not impossible for most
small developers.
