It really depends on what the pc application is doing. Most mobile phones will use a standard form of video encoding/compression (not seen or heard of quicktime for mobile, I would be very surprised if that existed), the problem is more to do with accessing the files generated. It also might be worth waiting for Java 7 to come out (you can get early releases now https://jdk7.dev.java.net/ )apparently they are reworking their media framework ( http://tech.puredanger.com/java7/#jmc & http://www.infoq.com/news/2007/06/java-media-components ). As far as I can tell apple have pretty much abandoned qt4j altogether, so you would be working with an unstable feature poor framework.
