If you're worried about data rate, you need to reduce the data rate :).

There's no reason to be using Baseline profile or such a high bitrate for video
or audio such simple content. If you're targeting QuickTime playback, you can
use a decent High Profile H.264 encoder and get better quality at 400, and
probably good enough down to 200 Kbps. Among other things, it looks like
you're suffering from the QuickTime H.264 luma range bug, due to lack of
contrast in the image.

I don't hear any stereo in the audio mix, so a good VBR AAC-LC can do 44.1 mono
around 48 Kbps.

And crop out that horizontal blanking. That high frequency edge is hard to
encode and looks bad.

Subject: How Many People Can Watch A Video Online Simultaneously Before Quality
Issues Happen?

Hi Folks

I have three 30+ minute videos up on my rented servers. How many
viewers can watch simultaneously before "quality" issues creep in?
The total stream bitrate is 1146 Kbps. The file format is MPEG-4,
plus it's H.264/[EMAIL PROTECTED] Here's the video, in case that helps:

Wonder if dropping frame rate to 15 makes sense? I put up the videos
on one of my crummy test web sites as a freebie for a design
institute; they will link their pages to my site.
