Re: Bad streaming quality (Firefox 3 for Mac) Sean Stevens Thu Apr 02 23:02:14 2009

I think there is some issue with perhaps Javascript and the quicktime plugin on Firefox on the mac...

We have an application with some javascript ajax type stuff and a quicktime stream... On Firefox/Mac, it breaks up a ton due to the javascript.

If I load the video and stop the javascript or directly open the movie in Firefox it is OK.

It's Fine at least on Safari for Mac.

Yea I got 7.6 too. I think it's firefox 3 for mac, a bug of some sort.
I would be curious if others have the same experience with FF3 on a
mac.

I also have no problems here. I'm using QT 7.6 Pro IE7-Plugin on a P4
EE, WinXP SP3. Even jumping in the timeline works very well, only up
to two seconds delay (im from germany, overseas :).

Which QT-Version do you use? Perhaps you use settings in the stream
which are not supported or not fully supported by older versions of
QT. How's the routing from the client you use to the streaming server?
Could this be the issue?

....

While listening i had to minimize the browser window and after
maximizing it again i had the same effects you described but after a
keyframe everything is working well again.

Hi,
My QTSS has been behaving strangely lately and I'm trying to figure
out what's going on. The quality of the video when streamed is
terrible, in between key frames there is smearing and hideous
pixellation. But the videos are fine played locally. Can folks take a look at the video on this page and let me know if you have any ideas?
Have you seen this before? I have a feeling it's something really
obvious but I'm not getting it... something to do with the hint track?
